I realized I'd never posted about the movie!

My mom dragged me to see A New Hope when I was 13; I thought I'd hate it, but I ended up loving it (and this is where my love of sci fi really started, Star Trek TOS reruns notwithstanding).

Seeing TFA took me right back to 1977!

I LOVED IT! I've seen it 3 times and hope to see it again soon. Can't wait for the Blu Ray release.

Rey and Finn were awesome. Han and Chewie were awesome.

My only complaint was not enough Luke, so I'm really looking forward to the next one.

I thought it was a gorgeous film, worthy of all of the accolades and success that it has received. The new kids were awesome(not that sold on Kylo TBH), with Rey as my favorite. Can't wait for the next one.

But, I think my favorite part about it is how all these kids are falling in love with the this 'verse, even the original films. I mean, some of them weren't even born when the prequels were released. LOL Lovely art and fics are being produced almost daily. Just goes to show, for all of its evil elements, fandom can be a beautiful thing. LOL

I've never really been in the SW fandom. Are there any active lj comms for SW?

I wasn't thrilled with Ren either, tbh. But everyone else made up for it :)

TBH I really have seen much over here. Most of what I've seen has been on Tumblr or AO3. Sadly, that seems to be trend in most fandoms these days.

Yes, Rey won everyone's hearts. And, most slashers have embraced the Finn/Poe ship, with some permutations of the three. For myself, I'm not shipping anyone from the film. I just didn't get the shipping but, preferring to love the characters individually without the romantic element. I may change my mind with the next film, but for now, no.

I noticed that Poe/Finn is a popular ship. IDK, I guess I can see it, Poe did name him after all, lol, but to me the movie itself seemed to be leaning toward Rey/Finn. I'm not really shipping anyone either, tho.

i loved the movie! i even went a second time (by myself) because i just had to.

charachters were great, and i was absolutely back into my almost obsessive tryst with the franchise.

and luke's face at the end... oh, my heart. it's the most tortured, haunted, sad and yet somehow hopeful face. i don't even have the right words for it. i found a pic online and saved it to my phone. there's just something about that look...

i can't believe i have to wait almost 2 years for another one.

I agree so hard with everything you said! I haven't been this excited about a film in a long time. Can't wait to get my hands on the bluray!!
