So, I have now seen 4 of the 8 movies nominated for best picture, and will do my best to see the rest of them.

Selma was very good, but it was very serious, with very little humor. Fantastic acting and directing, and the lack of nominations is a crime.

Grand Budapest Hotel was a wonderfully quirky movie, but I don't think it would be to everyone's taste.

The Imitation game was funny, touching, suspenseful and heartbreaking. Again, fantastic acting, writing, directing.

Boyhood, the favorite to win may be a unique piece of film making, but omg it's so freaking boring (and long, it's going on 3 hours now), filled with terrible acting. NOTHING HAPPENS. This boy floats through his life while his mother makes bad choice after bad choice, with no visible effect on him. What is the point of this dull, plodding, completely humorless movie?! This is NOT the best picture of last year!

If you've seen any of the nominated films, please share your opinions!

The only movie I have seen is The Imitation Game which I absolutely loved. I want to see Selma but I haven't seen it yet.

Due to my location - under a rock, basically - I have not seen one of the nominated films. A crime, really. Which makes it even more absurd for me only rooting for "The Imitation Game". I'm just that bad...
