My computer died. Fuck. I don't want to spend the day setting up a new one, I had other plans. Plus, I don't want to spend the money on a new one when this one is not that old and I am so pissed off right now I could scream.

Work is going better, but I'm still looking for a new job. The one I interviewed for last week was misleading in the job description and hours, so I am not taking it :(

However, TPTB at my job think I'm doing really well (like, a bunch of them and people at the big company I'm not allowed to tell people I work for listened to one of my calls and thought it was almost perfect, and some said it was perfect) even tho I don't feel like I know what I'm doing a lot of the time. I hate the micromanaging all the freaking time!!

I'd better get a daylight shift in March if I'm still there at that time..... :/

I'm not happy that I'm going to miss the Olympics every night :/ although I think we should boycott them anyway because of the "no gays in Russia" thing.

It's becoming harder to keep up with all the TV shows I watch, so I've eliminated The Tomorrow People (nothing ever happens to move this story along!) and Elementary (this time I mean it, last week's episode was horrible). And Arrow is next if there is not more JB and Manu Bennett soon!

At least some of the shows, like American Horror Story and Sleepy Hollow, have ended for the season, lol

But now Suits, Defiance, Lost Girl, etc are all coming back to take their places! I can't keep up :D

Of the new shows that have come on this season, I'd have to say that I love Sleepy Hollow, The Blacklist (James Spader can do no wrong), HELIX (I LOVE THIS SHOW), and REIGN (please watch this show so it doesn't get cancelled!!).

I wouldn't mind too much if Agents of Shield, Dracula, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland were not renewed, although I do enjoy them to a degree.

My other favorites are in no danger of cancellation :)

In other news, my Windows 7 computer died Sunday, so I upgraded. This new computer has 1TB of memory, omg and a wide screen monitor that takes some getting used to.

But, Windows 8, how much do I HATE you? Let me count the ways!

This new OS sucks. There is no start/restart button for one thing. There is no clock visible at all times, which is imperative for me!

The minimize feature is gone. I cannot close my browser without using task manager, FFS.

I could go on and on.

I'm so irritated by this, I have to vent about it, regardless of the date!

My mom just called and asked me to come to their house after work, because they got a new TV and cable box today, and they cannot figure out how to use the remote. JFC. Neither one of them is stupid, I can't believe they cannot figure it out.

Work has been pretty busy, surprisingly. December is usually slow.

My cousin's funeral was yesterday. It sucked (having to bury my cousin, I mean; the actual funeral and wake were quite nice, and well attended). Enough about that.

I had a Christmas party at my house on Saturday for my Star Trek club, and M1 and M2 came up from Maryland \o/ and stayed overnight. A great time was had by all!

I've known these people for 15 years or so; here are the gifts I received (we just do small stuff and a grab bag):

A santa decoration (I don't decorate for any holidays)

A container of orange tea (I am a coffee drinker, they've never seen me drink tea, because I don't)

A bag of Butterfingers (chocolate and peanut butter is my favorite candy, or peanut M&Ms; they've seen me enjoy these many times)

2!! sets of those cheese spreader knives (I have never served them cheese and crackers on any occasion)

THIS IS WHY I HATE GETTING GIFTS. If you're not going to put any thought or effort into it, don't give me anything. I make sure my gifts are appropriate and something that my friends will actually like or use.

The Santa went (yet again) to my sister-in-law, the tea went home with M1, the Butterfingers went to my brother, and one set of cheese knives went to my sister. I stuck the other one in a drawer, to be sold at a future yard sale.

The only good gift was my grab bag gift, because my friend J pulled me aside and told me to pick his gift, lol.

It was Star Trek Scene It! which I had planned to buy for myself, so \o/ for J!!
