I'm getting ready for the start of round 2 of the NHL playoffs.

The Pens are playing the Caps; tonight is game one. This is the first time in a while that I've felt confident that the Pens have a real chance at the Stanley Cup, and their real challenge starts tonight \o/

In other news. I've decided to take a step back from the Sherlock fandom. The setlock pics I've seen are driving me nuts; I DO NOT WANT the Watson family hour. Way TOO MUCH TIME is being devoted to the baby and Mary and I know I'm going to hate season four. In addition, the US Sherlock con has basically been abandoned by SM and ME. They have lied to us for over a year now, and I'm done waiting.

I'm looking forward to my next con in June, WW Philly, to meet Tom Hiddleston. AND we're going on a road trip that Sunday to Awesome Con in DC to meet Peter Capaldi!!

Should be a great weekend.

I'm going to Shore Leave in July, Dragon Con and Chicago SG in Sept. DC added Jack Gleeson (Joffery from GOT) and Jason Isaacs!

I watched the first episode of The Night Manager with Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. IT'S FANTASTIC. Can't wait to meet Tom!

Work is going extremely well. Still need some work on the house, but it's coming along nicely.

How are all of you?!
ailurophile6: (dr who tardis)
Ok, so far the new season of Dr. Who has been disappointing. Apparently, I'm missing the deep, dark meaning of these episodes :/ Capaldi is fine, but he mumbles his lines too much. Clara is suddenly super companion. And don't even get me started on the horrible, forced relationship with Danny, ugh (and I hated the guy who played Robin Hood).

The domestic/child abuse events in the NFL are sickening. I just have to keep thinking that there are hundreds of other NFL players who do not abuse their families, and actually do a lot of good things.

I stand by my prediction of a losing Steelers season.

Pitt is 3-0 though, so that's good :)

I was supposed to have plans today, but per usual, my family never followed through. I am really getting tired of that :/ So, I'll watch football and read today, I guess.

Work is fine. Still settling in, but so far so good.

Just found out that there are going to be several minor cast members (the boys) from A Christmas Story at the Steel City Con in December. This should be awesome, lol. I hope to get a group photo op, because that is my favorite Chrismas movie :D

And if you're still reading, is there anyone who needs SGA seasons 1-3 on DVD? I was given them by the lovely [ profile] vecturist, but I got my series set back (long story) and would like to pass them along to someone who would appreciate them (for free!).

Looking forward to the new TV season, but I haven't seen any good new shows coming out. Anyone have a show they've heard good things about and can recommend (NO COMEDIES PLS)?

BENEDICT WINS AN EMMY FOR SHERLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well deserved recognition for a fabulous show!!!!

Watching "Rush" when Christopher appears :D

Not crazy about this show, tho, the lead character is an ass.

Don't forget tomorrow is the season premiere of Hell on Wheels \o/ More Chris!!

ailurophile6: (what?)
First impression (about 3/4 way through)

Ok, but do you really expect us to buy these 2 as father and son?!

They look the same age! (and in reality are 11 years apart). Plus they look nothing alike. I'm not buying it :/

Still, it's interesting enough to stick with it for a while, plus Anthony Head :)
ailurophile6: (fargo)
Congrats to Fargo (best mini series), Billy Bob Thornton (best actor in a mini series) and Allison Tolman (best supporting actress in a mini series). FANTASTIC!

Also, congrats to Orange is the New Black for winning Best Comedy \o/ with a win for best guest actress in a comedy series as well.

And Matt Bomer won best actor in a movie for The Normal Heart!

I wish Walton Goggins had won for one of the two he was nominated for, though. :/

AND TATIANA MASLANY WINS AGAIN FOR ORPHAN BLACK!!! She is phenomenal on that show :D

The critics and I have good taste ;)

ETA: Forgot that Cosmos won best reality show, and NdT won best reality show host :)
ailurophile6: (defiance)
Season premiere tonight at 8 pm EST on SyFy, followed by the series premiere of Dominion.

(For those, like me, who cannot keep track of all of the 'summer series premieres'!)

Also, the Critic's Choice awards are on the CW tonight. Sherlock, Benedict, Martin and Fargo are all nominated :)
ailurophile6: (fargo)
Game of Thrones was excellent this season.

I cannot recommend Fargo more highly; Martin Freeman was perfect as Lester!

I only have to work 1/2 day today \o/

And instead of Dragon Con, I'm thinking of going to Fan Expo in Toronto again. Yesterday they added Matt Smith and today they announced Elijah Wood.....

Hope you're all having a good hump day!
ailurophile6: (jump mccoy's bones)
Karl Urban! I'll miss seeing you on my TV every week :(

Also, am I the only one who binge watched season two of Orange is the New Black on Netflix yesterday?! :D

Just as awesome as season one!

Going to a picnic today and to see Edge of Tomorrow...tomorrow :)

Hope you all have a great weekend! We're supposed to have marvelous weather here.
ailurophile6: (american idiot)
I have discovered the 'friends of friends' page and have been scrolling through it periodically.

There is a very obnoxious user who posts the most racist, homophobic and just plain repellent things showing up there.

But we have no friends in common (thank the gods!), so how does she show up on this filter?

I is confused, lol

And wishing there was a way to hide her posts!

In other news, I have reactivated my Netflix account so I can binge watch a bunch of Canadian and British TV shows :)

I think the only reason I'm still watching this show is because half of the cast was in Stargate, lol

Plus, cigarette smoking man from X Files.

Otherwise, I can't stand the whiny kid who plays the male lead, and the female lead is blah.

Not to mention I can't keep track of all the jumping around in time, lol.

Oh, well, it's nice to see all these familiar faces...

Ok, I am definitely done with Arrow now

Oliver's mother paying off his pregnant affair is one thing, but him being relieved because "what would I have done" and "I'm not ready to be a father" resolution was completely, utterly repugnant and the absolute worst way that scene could have been written.

And they killed off the wrong Queen. Thea is a useless spoiled brat and I cannot stand her or her storyline. At least Mom the mass murderer will not become mayor :/

ailurophile6: (opinionated)
Ok, I lasted ten minutes into this complete piece of garbage before I couldn't take anymore.

What possessed the CW to air this? It's horrid. Rehashed plot, horrible acting. Seriously, there are aliens living on earth and you're worried about not letting them attend the homecoming dance?! WTF?!

At least they renewed Reign \o/

Getting ready for a Super Bowl party at my house later today. Go Broncos! (Sorry [ profile] mercury973). I do love
MVPeyton :)

Work is going better, but I'm still looking for a new job. The one I interviewed for last week was misleading in the job description and hours, so I am not taking it :(

However, TPTB at my job think I'm doing really well (like, a bunch of them and people at the big company I'm not allowed to tell people I work for listened to one of my calls and thought it was almost perfect, and some said it was perfect) even tho I don't feel like I know what I'm doing a lot of the time. I hate the micromanaging all the freaking time!!

I'd better get a daylight shift in March if I'm still there at that time..... :/

I'm not happy that I'm going to miss the Olympics every night :/ although I think we should boycott them anyway because of the "no gays in Russia" thing.

It's becoming harder to keep up with all the TV shows I watch, so I've eliminated The Tomorrow People (nothing ever happens to move this story along!) and Elementary (this time I mean it, last week's episode was horrible). And Arrow is next if there is not more JB and Manu Bennett soon!

At least some of the shows, like American Horror Story and Sleepy Hollow, have ended for the season, lol

But now Suits, Defiance, Lost Girl, etc are all coming back to take their places! I can't keep up :D

Of the new shows that have come on this season, I'd have to say that I love Sleepy Hollow, The Blacklist (James Spader can do no wrong), HELIX (I LOVE THIS SHOW), and REIGN (please watch this show so it doesn't get cancelled!!).

I wouldn't mind too much if Agents of Shield, Dracula, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland were not renewed, although I do enjoy them to a degree.

My other favorites are in no danger of cancellation :)

What are you all watching and loving?

ailurophile6: (suits)
Suits was renewed for Season Four by USA :D
ailurophile6: (do not want)
I've given this show 4 episodes, and I'm done.

This show is boring and so stupid I can't take any more, lol.

Spoiler )

Maybe I'll read the book, it's bound to be much better than this dreck.
ailurophile6: (like)
On Sundays at 9:00 pm I watch "The Killing" on AMC.

On Sundays at 10:00 pm, I watch "Falling Skies".

Guess who has a part in both?

Ryan Robbins.

I find it amusing to see him on a cop show and turn the channel and he's on a sci fi show fighting aliens, lol.

He's adorable, I'm so glad he's working so much!

new TV...

The season premiere of the best show you're not watching, Justified, was last night. That show ROCKS!

People, you gotta watch this program, you don't know what you're missing!

Also enjoyed the premiere of Alcatraz (hi, Paul!) and did not see the twist at the end coming :)

Still looking forward to the premieres of Common Law and Touch (\o/ Keifer!)

I haven't watched the season premiere of White Collar yet, will do today.

The second season of The Killing starts April 1st, as does the second season of Game of Thrones. The Walking Dead is back on February 12th.

Too much TV, too little time, LOL

Also, they've added Torri to Chicago, and Andee to Vancouver. There's still room for guests on Sunday in Chicago (c'mon DHew!!)

Those cons are shaping up really well. Maybe Cretin is realizing they've been shafting us on prices/guests for a while now!

Head's up!
